Its surface is smooth matte and is quite good.15.6-inch screen was matte, not glossy, which makes it a bit less brightness and color but makes the screen easy to viewCnet rated it 4.5 which is quite good rating. While laptop mag pins out the displaying misfits as – ” Our review unit came with the matte screen that produced sharp images, but colors were muted, and viewing angles were poor. Even from 45 degrees, colors washed out significantly. ”

But they also state that ” You can comfortably watch a movie on the SL510. Video was smooth, visual noise was minimal, and colors were true”

this lappy comes with VoIP-optimized features.Company had provided full assortment of USB ports spread across the sides and even the rear of the ThinkPad SL510 though according to laptopmag -”two of the USB ports are located in a compartment with very little vertical clearance. If you have a thick USB device, such as a USB broadband modem, it may not fit into either of the ports on the right side.”

It has Faster Bootup and Shut Down – up to 56% faster and 40% faster shutdown process.ThinkPad SL510 ran for 3 hours and 37 minutes on cnet’s test for battery life with six cell battery

User reviews : As far as user reviews are concerned we have checked most of the review websites and about 80% are in favor of this laptop

well you can say it as a “affordable” gaming notebook. It comes with bigger screen of 15.6″ inches and there is no delay in response, graphic effects are sharper with no ghosting and shadows.
for performance check digitaltrends team had tried it on with BioShock, this method uses DirectX 10 to create detailed bump-mapping on surface and atmospheric effects like shimmering water. But this notebook proved to be worthy.Double Sata disk Drive for more space (up to 640GB) which helps you to do more.LifeFrame, SmartLogon and Virtual Camera are also offered with this pack.Contrast and black levels were lacking, with black showing up as a washed out grey.Full-size keyboard was comfortable to type on and also gave you a full numpad off to the side.It is easy to type on and a separate number pad.

Intel® Core™ i7 Processor Extreme Edition
The world’s top chip maker company intel furnished its latest processor. It was termed as Gulftown previously. Intel stats it as The world’s fastest‡1, smartest PC processor.

Lets understand its features in a better manner .

Features :
Cores /Threads : 6 cores / 12 threads
Cores and threads go hand in hand. Multi-core processors are single chips that contain two or more distinct processors or execution cores in the same integrated circuit. Multi-threading allows each core to work on two tasks at once, thereby letting you do more things simultaneously, producing faster, more efficient results. Now your computer can keep up with even your heaviest multitasking.
Clock Speed : 3.33 GHz, up to 3.60 with turbo boost : It is basically processor speed measurement. It measures how fast a processor performs an activity – which activity depends upon how you plan to use your computer. Clock speed rates are shown in gigahertz (GHz), which means a billion cycles per second.
Intel® Smart Cache : 12 MB : Cache is a fast storage area where the processor places frequently accessed data. Smart Cache is Intel’s performance-maximized data storage. It allows each processor core to dynamically utilize up to 100% of available cache and obtain data from the cache at higher throughput rates. By keeping more data closer to the processor for fast execution, overall performance is improved. This is of particular benefit when running rich media titles and games, as well as everyday productivity applications.
Silicon :32 nm
Intel® Turbo Boost Technology Yes
Intel® Turbo Boost Technology Yes

Intel’s planning on selling these in retail, standalone form for $999 (MSRP).The chip uses the LGA1366 socket and has an integrated memory controller.Power consumption is less and the chip really works as what it is stated as fastest chip at present time. You can easily fix it on with existing X58 chipsets.Just don’t forget the BIOS update. All in all this chip does what it says.
