Dell XPS 14z Laptop (‎XPS 14 – L401X)

Dell had recently launched their new SLIM laptop(XPS 14 – L401X) with name XPS 14z.This laptop is made available in China and soon might be available in other part of World including India,U.S.In India it shows product now available.While on Chinese website it shows that they have temporarily stopped selling this unit.

Gadget is packed with Intel’s Core i5 and i7 processors,well known JBL speakers(2.0 Audio: 2 X 3W = 6W Total) add some wooz to the sound system.There is optical drive,9-in-1 media card reader ,web cam,Power adapter with 90W standard; 130W with 2GB graphics and i7 processor.

It’s screen size is 10.1″ Screen and it quite bright and good looking.It boasts Intel Atom N270 (1.6GHz)processor and 1 GB DDR2 SDRAM memory.Though i was missing bluetooth and optical drive.But includes three USB 2.0 ports to connect external drives.Web cam ( 1.3 mp)works fine.It also consist 802.11b/g wireless LAN that allows users to connect with free wi fi hotspots.There is plenty of HDD space(160GB)to store your data and the RAM is upgradeable.

Compaq presario beeps the bios code for the video graphics card – What it means

I have a compaq presario desktop and won’t startup and gives me the bios code for bad video card and I know that’s the problem. I know that is the problem but the slot that came with the original compter snapped off.. Do I need a new video card or can I do something about it?

when you hear beep codes and your desktop board does not boot up successfully.

Beep/blink state Sequence/pattern Meaning Troubleshooting steps
2 beeps beep, beep [pause], beep, beep

Then the BIOS will continue to boot.		 No video detected
  • If using an add-in graphics card, reseat the card
  • Make sure you’ve installed a compatible processor

This beep pattern will be repeated until the system is powered off.		 Memory error
  • Reseat the memory.
  • Make sure that the contacts on the memory and the socket are clean.
  • Try removing one bank of memory modules at a time. (Some systems may require a memory module in Bank 0.)
  • Try using memory modules from the same manufacturer with the same part number and speed.
  • Check for a faulty memory module by trying the memory in a known good system.
High/Low beeps beep pattern:

Each high and low beep will be accompanied by front panel LED blinks, for a total of 16 blinks.		 CPU thermal trip
  • Check that the processor heatsink/fan is properly installed.

Desktop vs laptop : Why i prefer desktop to laptops

I really love desktop pc’s though they lacks some features when compared to laptops for eg portability,power consumption and wireless accessories.

But i love desktops because they are cheaper,faster,easily upgradable,you can use them for hours and i can surf internet much more faster on it.Smaller or delicate things like laptops needs to be handled with care,smaller and portable things have a much higher chances of getting damaged.Laptops are very useful pieces of equipment, but you should always buy it with the warranty on them because you never know what could happen. Desktops are not easily destroyed, because they never moved.

Future updates : You can easily update to the newest technology and better hardware at any point of time in desktops as compared to laptops.You can even try to install updates by your own.You have limited options for laptops while desktops can be easily updated.

More economical : It is more economical when compared to laptops.

Love gaming and multimedia : I enjoy playing games and watching movies on desktop.It is a bit smaller than pc but is quite impressive.Good sound,better graphics and bigger screen really makes the enjoyment double.
