How to connect Two laptops to the internet?
I have a house desktop computer and a laptop. The internet goes to my desktop to router to laptop. I am getting rid of my computer and getting another laptop…so how will the internet go to both my laptops, without the house computer?.

I am guessing your modem connects to your desktop using USB and that is why you dont have the modem connected straight to the routers WAN Port.
If your modem can use a ethernet cable then connect it staright to the router and setup the router to connect to the internet. If the modem only uses USB then you will either need to connect it exactly how you have it now or get a modem that can use a ethernet connection.
